Lockheed to Produce Laser-Guided Bomb Kits for Air Force; Joe Serra Comments

lockheed martinLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded a $76 million contract to continue the supply of laser-guided bomb kits for the U.S. Air Force.

Lockheed will extend production of Paveway II Plus kits and manufacture the guidance and tail assemblies for GBU-10 and GBU-12 LGBs, the company said Wednesday.

The products are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2016.

Joe Serra, precision guided systems manager at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, said the Paveway II Plus guidance system incorporates enhancements to its system performance and precision.

Lockheed Martin designs the systems at its production facility in Archbald, Pennsylvania.
