Versar to Buy Johnson Controls’ Federal Security Systems Integration Business; Tony Otten Comments


acquisition,  mergerVersar (NYSE: VSR), a project management company, has agreed to purchase a Johnson Controls subsidiary that works with federal customers to design, install and support physical and network security systems.

Versar expects to wrap up the acquisition of Johnson Controls Security Systems by Sept. 30 in a transaction that includes $20 million in cash and contingent payments, Versar said Wednesday.

Tony Otten, Versar CEO, said the deal offers the company an opportunity to expand its client base and add new products and service offerings to its portfolio.

Springfield, Virginia-based Versar provides construction management, professional, environmental and munitions response services in the public and private sectors.
