Orbital ATK Secures $260M Navy Contract for AARG Missile


Orbital ATKOrbital ATK (NYSE: OA) has secured a contract worth up to $260 million to produce two lots of Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile systems for the U.S. Navy and the service branch’s allies.

The company will also kick off fourth and fifth lot full-rate production for captive air training and all-up round missiles for the Navy and the air forces of Italy and Australia, Orbital ATK said Tuesday.

The Navy works to incorporate the air-launched AARGM systems into the weapons platforms onboard the EA-18G Growler, FA-18 E/F Super Hornet and FA-18C/D Hornet aircraft in an effort to target surface-to-air systems.

Orbital ATK said it expects AARGM to reach initial operational capability aboard Italy’s Tornado ECR planes by 2017.
