Calibre Buys IMC’s Health, Defense IT Consulting Businesses

acquisitionCalibre Systems has bought Information Management Consultants‘ business groups that work with health and life sciences organizations as well as defense and government agencies to manage data systems.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal and Calibre will integrate the acquired businesses into a single information management consulting division led by Dorisa Harris, Calibre said Monday.

Reston, Virginia-based IMC offers federal and commercial clients a range of health informatics, information technology and enterprise content management platforms.

“The high level of change combined with, in some cases, dated technology systems and demographic trends has indeed been a boon for consulting and technology providers serving the private and public health markets, ” Bob Kipps, managing director at KippsDeSanto & Co., told GovCon Wire.

KippsDeSanto & Co. advised IMC on the transaction.

“While a somewhat smaller market than VA or CMS, NIH has strong budget support and mission criticality in that it sits at the nexus of private and commercial health, research and life sciences, ” Kipps said.

“NIH’s enormous levels of information creates exciting needs for cloud computing, data analytics and other technology tools offered by outside technology firms.”
