The Defense Department said Thursday the sensors could be integrated with Tigershark, Â RQ-8 Firescout and RQ-21 Blackjack UAVs for use in hyperspectral imaging and wide area aerial surveillance missions of the Air Force and Navy.
The Naval Air Warfare Center’s aircraft division awarded the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract through competitive procurement and the company will receive $1, 710, 000 in fiscal year 2015 research, test, assessment and development funds from the Air Force at the time of award.
A majority of the work will occur in Fairfax, Virginia with the rest in Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, California and Massachusetts through June 2018.
