General Atomics Looks to Update Reaper Drone for European Skies


General AtomicsTYSONS CORNER, VA June 29, 2015 — ExecutiveBiz reported Friday on General Atomics is looking to update its MQ-9 Reaper to comply with European air-worthiness regulations ahead of a plan to sell the unmanned aircraft to U.S. allied nations in the region.

According to a DoD Buzz report, Christopher Ames, director of international strategic development for General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, said he expects the modified versions to be deployed in Italy and the U.K. within four years.
