SSA Awards $200M Cisco Tech Services BPA to Red River

cablesThe Social Security Administration will purchase Cisco-built (NASDAQ: CSCO) hardware and software from information technology services provider Red River under a potential five-year, $200 million blanket purchase agreement.

Cisco-gold certified partner Red River will supply Cisco’s infrastructure and networking services to more than 1, 500 SSA offices and 65, 000 employees under the contract, Red River said Tuesday.

The SSA’s Office of Telecommunications and Systems Operations started the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to help the SSA connect staffers with each other.

SSA offices use Cisco’s local area and wide area data network technology and protocols, Red River says.
