HII Appoints George Jones, Tim Farrell to VP Positions; Brian Cuccias Comments


Huntington Ingalls HIIHuntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has appointed George Jones as vice president of operations and Tim Farrell as vice president of new U.S. Navy programs.

Jones will be in charge of shipbuilding operations from construction through delivery, while Farrell will head contract capture efforts for shipbuilding programs with the Navy, HII said Tuesday.

“George and Tim bring a unique set of talent and management skills to these leadership roles, ” said Brian Cuccias, president of HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division.

“Both Tim and George’s approach to leadership is significant as we continue to find ways to build quality military ships in an affordable manner.”

Jones, who joined HII in 1984 as an apprentice, will manage cost and schedule performance and improvements to facilities and processes as the new VP of operations.

He previously served as director of production for new ship construction programs and has held other craft and program leadership roles during his 31 years at HII, including as program manager for the William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) and America (LHA 6).

Farrell is formerly VP of operations and has more than 30 years of experience in defense contracting, program management, engineering and shipbuilding.
