Ronald Sugar Joins BeyondTrust Board, Sets Sights on Cyber Firm’s InfoSec Growth

CyberStockTYSONS CORNER, VA April 23, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — GovCon Executive reported Wednesday on BeyondTrust electing Ronald Sugar as the newest member of the Arizona-based cybersecurity company’s board of directors.

Sugar was chairman and CEO of Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) for five years and currently sits on the board of Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Chevron (NYSE: CVX), BeyondTrust said Tuesday.

He serves various advisory roles in industry and was also a presidential appointee to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee during the Clinton administration.

Sugar indicated his intention to help hasten the development of the company’s information security business.

“Given the ever-changing and asymmetric threat environment, corporate boards and management are increasing their attention on cyber enterprise risk, ” he said in comments marking the appointment.

“I am excited to work with [BeyondTrust President and CEO] Kevin Hickey, the management team and BeyondTrust’s investors at Veritas Capital to accelerate the company’s growth in this dynamic market.”
