Neustar Hires Mark Tonnesen as CISO; Lisa Hook Comments

Mark Tonnesen, formerly an executive consultant at MapMyID, has joined Neustar Inc. (NYSE: NSR) as chief information and security officer.

He will oversee the company’s initiatives to develop and secure technology infrastructure and services and the operation of its information technology and product infrastructure, data centers, network and communications systems, Neustar said Wednesday.

Tonnesen spent two decades at the Department of Homeland Security, where he advised the agency on establishing the Transportation Security Administration.

Neustar CEO Lisa Hook said Tonnesen’s leadership skills would help the company achieve business growth.

Tonnesen previously served as a senior consulting partner for StrataFusion and CIO PS after he held the senior vice president and chief information officer role at Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: EA).

Tonnesen was also a four-year SVP and CIO for McAfee,  a VP and CIO at Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) and an executive at Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO).
