Lockheed, Marinette Marine to Build 2 Additional Combat Ships for Navy


Littoral-Combat-ShipTYSONS CORNER, VA April 21, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — ExecutiveBiz reported Monday on Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Marinette Marine receiving the go-ahead to build two Freedom-class littoral combat ships (LCS 21 and LCS 23) for the U.S. Navy under a contract modification worth $232 million that also includes an option for another, the LCS 25.

The vessels to be built are the last two under a 10-ship contract the Navy awarded in 2010, Marinette Marine parent company Fincantieri said Thursday.
