DISA Issues RFP for $4B Global Network Services Contract

NGENGlobeThe Defense Information Systems Agency has started to accept proposals for a potential 10-year,  $4.3 billion contract vehicle for telecommunications services to Defense Department users, C4ISR & Networks reported Monday.

Amber Corrin writes the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Global Network Services contract will work to connect at least 1 million DoD users to a single global communications network by 2020.

DISA plans to use the GNS vehicle to procure leased telecommunications services for the Defense Information Systems Network and DoD Information Network, according to the report.

GNS will initially focus on international service requirements and U.S. services are included as an option, Corrin reports.

DISA will accept responses to the RFP through May 18.
