CenturyLink has acquired data services provider Orchestrate as part of efforts to incorporate the latter’s database-as-a-service tools and cloud-based NoSQL offering with the CenturyLink Cloud platform.
CenturyLink said Monday the acquisition will also supplement its product development and technology team with Orchestrate’s data services team.
“CenturyLink’s customers, like most enterprises, are expressing interest in solutions that help them meet the performance, scalability and agile development needs of large-scale big data analytics, ” said Glen Post, CEOÂ and president of CenturyLink.
He added that Orchestrate’s support for database technologies will be available to customers via the CenturyLink Cloud platform.
Orchestrate executives Antony Falco, Ian Plosker and Dave Smith will join CenturyLink as part of the acquisition.
