SAIC, Lafayette Group Awarded Navy Comms Interoperability Support Contracts


ContractThe U.S. Navy has awarded a $92.7 million contract to Lafayette Group and an $83.8 million contract to Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) to support interoperable communications of government and non-governmental organizations.

Each cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will run through March 22, 2019, and covers communications interoperability technical assistance and research and development services, the Defense Department said Monday.

Fifty percent of work will occur at contractor facilities and the other fifty percent at government facilities across 50 states and U.S. territories.

The military service will obligate funds on individual task orders from the branch’s operation and maintenance budget or through interagency agreements.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific is the contracting activity and received two bids for the program via the FedBizOpps website.
