Netherlands Requests $1.05B Boeing CH-47F Helicopter Sale


ChinookThe Netherlands has asked to procure $1.05 billion in Boeing-made (NYSE: BA) CH-47F helicopters and associated equipment through the U.S.’ foreign military sales program.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday the request covers 17 Chinook helicopters and multiple aircraft turbine engines, embedded global positioning and inertial navigational systems, radios for high-frequency and very-high frequency communications and identification friend or foe products,

DSCA said the State Department has approved the FMS transaction, which also includes technical documentation, training, aircraft ferry and refueling and logistics support services.

The Dutch air force intends to use CH-47Fs to support troop movement, medical evacuation, disaster relief, firefighting and search-and-rescue operations as well as aid homeland defense and security cooperation efforts.
