Jeff Johnson, formerly president of Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) operations in the Middle East, has been named vice president of business development for military aircraft and succeeded the now-retired Tim Norgart.

Boeing said Thursday he will oversee the development and implementation of business strategies for the Super Hornet, F-15 Strike Eagle, C-17 Globemaster III, KC-46 Tanker, P-8A Poseidon, Apache, Chinook, weapons and unmanned systems.

Johnson will be based in St. Louis and report to Shelley Lavender, president of Boeing’s military aircraft business.

Marc Allen, president of Boeing’s international business segment, said the company “will announce Jeff’s successor shortly and the transition plan they will implement.”

He led Boeing’s business in the Middle East for four years after service as senior director of global strike business development for Boeing’s defense, space and security segment, a role he started in November 2009.
