John Keller writes the companies will work to develop new imaging radars that use electronic subreflector designs for scans.
Contract details include:
- First RF Corp. won $499, 237 with options for up to $2 million options
- HRL Laboratories won $881, 786 with options for up to $5.9 million
- Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) won $713, 256
- Vadum won $364, 141 with options for up to $962, 523
DARPA tasked the companies to imaging radars that perform similarly to synthetic aperture radars and not rely on platform or target movement to scan and produce high-resolution, three-dimensional images, the report said.
Keller reports that DARPA plans to launch another solicitation for subreflector-based imaging radars for military applications.
