Cloudera Appoints Vishal Rao as Field Operations SVP; Tom Reilly Comments

Vishal Rao, formerly worldwide vice president of field sales at Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK), has joined Cloudera as senior vice president for field operations.

Cloudera said Monday Rao will be in charge of the company’s global sales, business development and service delivery.

“Cloudera’s mission to drive big value with big data for our customers matches Vishal’s strategic understanding of our customers’ needs and the solutions required to meet them, ” said Cloudera CEO Tom Reilly.

The company added that Rao will support Cloudera’s growth strategy for 2015 in establishing partnerships on enterprise data management with other hardware and software vendors.

Rao has also worked at BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC) and IBM (NYSE: IBM), where he held leadership roles in sales.
