Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) has won a five-year, $27.6 million contract to continue development and testing work on avionics platforms for the U.S. Navy.

The company will work to manage the program, develop services and systems, guide quality analysis, plan tests and analyze flight test data for the Naval Air Warfare Center, Engility said Friday.

Contract work will focus on naval avionics platform integration emulator systems, which are built to integrate prototype technologies such as sensors and algorithms into existing platforms.

Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility’s president and CEO, said the company has provided design, development and technical services for NAPIE systems to the Navy for nearly 20 years.

“It is an honor to continue to support the NAWCAD and its important missions, ” added Smeraglinolo, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2015.

NAPIE systems comprise data recorders, test engineer consoles and electrical, electronic, avionic and mechanical components.
