Government logistics contractor PAE has purchased the global security and solutions business of US Investigations Services — or USIS — for an undisclosed sum.

Arlington, Va.-based PAE said Friday it sought to grow its business with the Department of Homeland Security and other customers in the classified market as the GS&S business holds contracts in areas such as identity management, infrastructure protection, information management and mission support.

John Heller, PAE CEO, said the GS&S team brings a background in “supporting programs of critical national importance for customers across the law enforcement, homeland security and classified communities.”

The 1, 900-employee GS&S business also provides litigation support, biometric capture and enrollment, training, construction surveillance and security consulting.

“Building upon PAE’s 60 year history of providing services in support of our nation’s vital national security interests, the acquisition of GS&S expands that support within the Department of Homeland Security and to additional customers, including the Department of Justice, ” Heller added.

USIS said in September 2014 the GS&S unit held positions on 80 contract vehicles, had a customer base of 20 federal agencies and generated nearly $200 million in annual revenue.

Jeremy Wensinger, who joined USIS in April 2013 as president of the unit, will continue to lead the business at PAE.

Wensinger said the GS&S business will aim to help PAE gain “access to an adjacent set of customers that could benefit from our services” after the transaction.

The Chertoff Group advised PAE on the transaction.
