Engility said Tuesday Savner will lead the board with current TASC Chairman Peter Marino after the deal closes, which could occur within the current quarter of this calendar year.
Current Board Chairman Edward “Pete” Boykin does not plan to stand for re-election at the annual stockholders’ meeting in May.
Tony Smeraglinolo, president and CEOÂ of Engility, said Boykin helped guide the company through its 2012 spinoff from L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) and acquisitions of both Dynamics Research Corp. and TASC.
The acquisition will grow Engility’s board to 11 directors and result in a non-executive co-chair leadership structure, Engility said.
TASC’s owners will nominate four directors and Engility will have control over the other seven slots.
Savner is also currently chairman of the company’s nominating and corporate governance committee and a partner with Jenner & Block.
He served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) between 1999 and 2009.
