Barbara Humpton Promoted to COO at Siemens’ US Federal Org; Judy Marks Comments

Barbara Humpton, formerly senior vice president of business development for Siemens‘ U.S. federal business organization, has been promoted to the newly-created position of chief operating officer.

She will lead efforts to identify new business opportunities and land new work in the federal market for Siemens Government Technologies, Siemens said Thursday.

Judy Marks, president and CEO of SGT, said Humpton has been a key player in the business’ growth strategy since it started in 2011, when she joined the company as BD SVP.

Humpton served as a vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: LMT) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) before she joined SGT.

UTC Board OKs Carrier, Otis Spinoffs; Greg Hayes Quoted

The board of directors of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) approved the spinoffs of its Carrier and Otis subsidiaries into two independent companies and expects to complete the separations on April 3. "Executing the separations of Carrier and Otis is also a major milestone to completing the merger of UTC's aerospace businesses with Raytheon to create Raytheon Technologies,” Greg Hayes, chairman and CEO of UTC, said in a statement published Wedneday.

UTC Names Judy Marks, David Gitlin as CEOs of Future Independent Firms Otis, Carrier

United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) has appointed Judith Marks, president of Otis since 2017 and a three-time Wash100 winner, as CEO of UTC’s elevators manufacturing subsidiary. Marks previously served as CEO of Siemens USA and head of the industrial conglomerate’s Dresser-Rand business. She also held senior leadership positions at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and IBM (NYSE: IBM).
