Rick Fitz, former vice president of product strategy and management at Thomson Reuters‘ (NYSE: TRI) MarkMonitor subsidiary, will work as VP of information technology markets at Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK).
Splunk said Monday Fitz will be in charge of global market strategy for IT operations and application delivery and lead a team of marketing, product and business development and sales professionals.
“With more than 20 years of experience at software companies serving the IT operations market across our core verticals, Rick is ideally suited to lead this team, ” said Steve Sommer, chief marketing officer at Splunk.
Fitz, who will report to Sommer for this new role, has previously managed the service assurance portfolio of CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) as senior vice president for product management.
He has also held leadership roles in product management at Network General and BMC Software and other roles at Peregrine Systems and Remedy Corp.
