Peter Pace Named Haystax Board Chairman; William Van Comments

Peter Pace, the retired Marine Corps general who served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2005 to 2007, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at McLean, Virginia-based analytics product provider Haystax Technology.

Pace joined the board in 2013 and will help oversee the company’s business strategy as it pushes to grow its cybersecurity and analytics businesses in the defense and intelligence communities,  Haystax said Tuesday.

“We are confident that under his stewardship, we will continue to deepen our commitment to serving the most critical defense and intelligence missions, ” said William Van Vleet III, CEO of Haystax.

Pace holds the distinction as the first Marine Corps officer to chair the Joint Chiefs of Staff and is a recipient of the 2008 Presidential Medal of Freedom.

He also works for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s senior advisory board, serves as a visiting research scholar at Fordham University and is an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University.
