Vince Vlasho: Accenture to Help Navy Use Electronic Mobile-Based System for Shipyard Maintenance


AccentureAccenture‘s (NYSE: ACN) federal services business will develop a mobile-based system to upgrade maintenance processes at U.S. Navy shipyards as part of a potential three-year, $16.3 million contract.

The company said Tuesday the program seeks to maintenance operations with the electronic technical work documents system that utilizes mobile devices to relay work instructions and other information, and provide control forms and reference materials.

Accenture said it aims to enable collaboration between supervisors and on-site crews and standardize processes across Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

“Navy eTWD is a critical initiative for the Department of the Navy’s Ship Depot Maintenance Program, ” said Vince Vlasho, managing director of Navy and Marine Corps programs at Accenture.

“We are proud to have been selected by the Naval Sea Systems Command to work together and deliver this important capability.”
