NGA Seeks Proposals for Nonconventional Exploitation Factors Data System

SatelliteThe National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency wants industry proposals for an agency program to develop software applications for a non-conventional exploitation factors data system.

NGA issued a request for proposal Tuesday for the agency’s key component to provide non-literal exploitation systems to the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence and to the Allied System for GEOINT.

The agency plans to award a contract with a one-year base period and four one-year options.

NEFDS provides a system of data, parameters and models to exploit data about materials in an image.

Those models characterize “reflectivities and emissivities and radiance estimates as a function of arbitrary source, sensor, and target geometry, ” NGA says.

The data of a material is applicable to quantitative analysis, material identification and specification of  scenarios, sensors and geometries for collection, according to the agency’s RFP.

Prospective companies must have a top secret facility clearance.
