A Bloomberg Government report says the federal government’s total contract spending reached $682 billion in fiscal year 2020, a 14 percent increase from FY 2019 spending of $599 billion. BGOV said Thursday FY 2020 marks the fifth consecutive year of increase in contract spending and federal agencies primarily used $1.6 trillion in enacted FY 2020

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will move to exercise an option under a 2016 contract with Irving, Texas-based health care company McKesson (NYSE: MCK) for the distribution of vaccines and associated supplies intended for pandemic vaccination efforts.

McKesson (NYSE: MCK) has received a potential eight-year contract of undisclosed value to provide pharmaceutical supplies to outpatient clinics, medical centers and the Department of Veterans Affairs’ consolidated mail outpatient pharmacies.
