Rudy deLeon Joins General Dynamics Board of Directors; Phebe Novakovic Comments

Rudy deLeon,  a senior fellow with the Center for American Progress, has joined General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) board of directors.

DeLeon is a former Pentagon chief operating officer and served on both the Deputies Committee of the National Security Council and the National Partnership Council before he left federal service in 2001,  General Dynamics said Tuesday.

“Rudy brings a wealth of experience and his insights on defense policy make him a valuable addition to our board, ” said Phebe Novakovic, chairman and CEO of General Dynamics.

He served as undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness from 1997 to 2000 and as undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force from 1994 to 1997.

He began to work for the government in 1975 as a staff member in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

DeLeon served as a senior vice president at Boeing for five years after he left government.
