State Dept OKs Poland’s $500M Buy of Lockheed Missiles, F-16 Flight Plan Updates


lockheed martinPoland has asked to buy at least 40 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles and F-16 operational flight plan support services from the U.S. under a potential $500 million foreign military sale approved by the State Department.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday that the company could also supply two live and two inert AGM-158A JASSMs with test instrumentation kits and flight termination systems to Poland.

The sale also includes flight plan updates such as JASSM integration, spare and repair parts, missile containers, test equipment, technical documentation, training and logistics support for Poland’s F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft fleet.

DSCA stated that Poland wants to bolster its homeland defense capabilities against air and ground weapons systems and its support for NATO operations.
