Ralph Acaba: Raytheon Awarded $109M for Patriot Missile Engineering

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $109 million contract for engineering and support work on the Patriot air and missile defense systems.

The company said Wednesday it will provide Patriot system analysis, testing, software development and logistics services to the U.S. Army and foreign military sale customers.

“Customers around the world will benefit from the maintenance and upgrades that result from this contract – especially the technical baseline improvements designed to counter evolving threats, ” said Ralph Acaba, vice president at Raytheon’s integrated defense systems unit.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity, and work will occur at the company’s facilities in Alabama, Massachusetts and New Mexico.

The Patriot system is used by 12 nations and built to defend against ballistic and cruise missiles as well as manned and unmanned aircraft threats.
