NGA Renews DigitalGlobe’s Satellite Imagery Platform Contract


DigitalGlobeDigitalGlobe (NYSE: DGI) will continue providing satellite imagery for National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency programs after NGA renewed the company’s Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery contract.

The company said Monday Global-EGD has an estimated 1.5 billion square miles of available imagery and an additional 579, 153 square miles are updated daily for NGA to use in operational planning, situational awareness and emergency response operations.

The platform’s new features include Short Wave Infrared bands for imaging through airborne particulates and the CAVIS instrument for correction of atmospheric data based on monitoring of conditions related to clouds, aerosol, water vapor, ice and snow.

Global-EGD will include images from the WorldView-3 commercial satellite, DigitalGlobe says.
