Lockheed Awarded $828M Modification on Navy Trident II Contract


lockheed martinLockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space systems division has secured a contract modification potentially worth $828.4 million to provide the U.S. Navy with additional Trident II missiles and associated support services.

The modification also covers life extension development and production and deployed systems support work to be performed in various sites, including California,  Florida, Utah and Virginia, the Defense Department said Friday.

According to DoD, Lockheed received a total obligated amount of $128.1 million at the time of award, while fiscal 2015 funds of $18.2 million for operations and maintenance work will be available through the end of that fiscal year.

Work on the contract, which was awarded through the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs unit, is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2019.
