General Dynamics Electric Boat Awarded Potential $1B Nuclear Sub Support Contract


general dynamics logoA General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary has received a potential five-year,  $1.5 billion contract to provide engineering, logistics, technical support and other services for the U.S. Navy‘s nuclear submarines and submersibles.

The contract with General Dynamics Electric Boat has a base value of $234 million and also covers design, materials support and research and development, the company said Friday.

Electric Boat’s design and engineering team will also provide planning, scheduling and information services for crew training, facility support and maintenance and modernization of all active Navy submarines and submersibles.
