FirstNet Seeks Input on Public-Safety Network Initiative


LTEGridThe First Responder Network Authority has issued a request for information on methods to build the FirstNet national broadband network for emergency responders.

FirstNet administrators will consider the public’s input to develop strategies for acquiring equipment and services for the interoperable public-safety network, according to a FedBizOpps notice published Wednesday.

The group is accepting ideas on how it could operate and manage the core infrastructure, radio access networks, devices, applications and other deployable systems.

FirstNet also wants feedback about potential secondary use of excess public-safety spectrum capacity through a leasing agreement.
