Huntington Ingalls Subsidiary to Update Navy Amphibious Command Ships


Huntington Ingalls w:borderA Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) company has won three contracts worth $96.8 million combined to modernize the U.S. Navy’s amphibious command ships and to perform support services.

AMSEC LLC will work to package materials for the Naval Sea Systems Command’s USS Blue Ridge and USS Mount Whitney and develop plans for shipchecks, drawings, engineering and maintenance efforts, Huntington Ingalls said Wednesday.

The subsidiary will perform work at its facilities in Virginia, Japan, Washington and Italy through July 2019 under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts.

AMSEC will also develop interactive multimedia courseware modules on how to operate submarines as part of the Naval Sea Systems Command’s shipboard and schoolhouse training programs with a combined contract value of $8.9 million for five years.

AMSEC aims to complete the task by July 2019.
