Datapipe has moved to grow its market presence and expanded managed cloud hosting portfolio by purchasing Layered Tech, a midsize provider of managed hosting services and cloud infrastructure-as-a-service, for an undisclosed sum.Datapipe said Tuesday it aims to bolster its Enterprise Cloud Risk Management offering and other cloud solutions focused on federal security and compliance requirements.
Dan Tudahl, formerly president and general manager of government solutions at Layered Tech, will serve as president and GM of Datapipe’s new government solutions division.
“We have seen increased client value in delivering secure and compliant managed cloud solutions that directly connect public cloud platforms, such as AWS, to our own hosted private cloud and traditional hosted infrastructure, ” said Datapipe CEO Robb Allen.
He added that the combination of technologies from his company and Layered Tech is intended to address demand.
Following the acquisition, Datapipe said it will also establish a data center presence in Dallas, Denver and Kansas City in Missouri.
