Smiths MedicalThe U.S. Air Force will purchase version 3 of Smiths Medical‘s CADD-Solis pain management system with Programmed Intermittent Bolus and Patient Controlled Analgesia for the David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base.

CADD-Solis is an ambulatory infusion pump designed to reduce error in pain medication infusion by integrating programmed intermittent boluses with patient-controlled doses, Smiths Medical said Monday.

According to Jeff Brown, Smiths Medical’s vice president for sales and marketing for the Americas, the company is honored to provide its medical equipment “to serve the men and women of the U.S. Air Force, their families, and military retirees.”

The company said the programming options for PIB and PCA are expected to bolster patient safety through the correct distribution of medication doses for pain management infusion therapy.
