S. Gordon Walsh, a 16-year veteran of L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL), will join DynCorp International on July 21 to succeed Steve Gaffney as CEO of the Falls Church, Virginia-based government contractor.
Walsh holds more than two decades of leadership experience in the aerospace and defense sectors, DynCorp said Friday.
“His experience in logistics solutions, new business development and strategic realignment will enhance DI’s domestic competitiveness while supporting aggressive entry into new markets, ” said Chan Galbato, lead director at DynCorp’s parent company Delta Tucker Holdings.
Walsh has worked for L-3 since 1998 and most recently served as president of its systems field support division and as executive vice president for its logistics services business.
He also held the roles of corporate special projects director and group chief financial officer during his career with the communications technology provider.
Before joining L-3, he served in financial positions at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Loral and KPMG Peat Marwick.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and obtained his CPA license in the state of Texas.
