Report: RSA Eyes Identity Mgmt Growth in Symplified Asset Buy

RSAEMC security division RSA has acquired the technology assets of cloud identity company Symplified through a fire sale that concluded in June, CRN reported Tuesday.

Robert Westervelt writes RSA will incorporate the portfolio as it seeks to build its presence in the identity management space.

EMC previously added single sign-on and automatic provisioning tools through its acquisition of Aveksa in 2013.

“RSA expects to fully explore the capabilities of the Symplified solution, ” the company said in a statement.

“While we will evaluate all options, it is likely we will first examine the potential integration with both identity management and governance, and RSA’s other authentication solutions, ” it added.

The report quoted an RSA spokesperson as saying that the company will keep an engineering team at the Symplified office in Boulder, Colorado.
