Navy Extends Contract With AtHoc for Mass Notification Tech; Dave Brown Comments


wireless communicationsThe U.S. Navy has awarded a three-year, $9.2 million contract extension to AtHoc for continued usage of a technology to issue emergency mass notifications to branch personnel.

The Navy uses AtHoc IWSAlerts’ emergency mass notifications to notify sailors, government civilians and contractors of situations such as internal and external threats, AtHoc said Monday.

“The nature of the work by Naval personnel requires us to constantly push the envelope in innovating and developing the most advanced, secure, and reliable platform for interactive crisis communication, ” said Dave Brown, VP of AtHoc’s defense and intelligence group.

Jeff Hoyle, AtHoc’s director of technology and Navy programs, said the Navy deployed AtHoc’s warning system for the Navy Intranet and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network.

AtHoc intends for the communications platform to serve more than 375, 000 personnel stationed at 96 bases worldwide.
