Air Force Awards $10B to Northrop for B-2 Sustainment, Updates


NorthropLogoThe U.S. Air Force has awarded a potential 10-year, $9.9 billion contract to Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) for modernization and sustainment work on the B-2 Spirit bomber.

Northrop will perform the work under delivery orders over five base years and up to five additional years if the Air Force exercises an option for the Flexible Acquisition Sustainment Team II contract, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

Contract work will include software maintenance, sustainment logistics, programmed depot maintenance and other interim contract support.

The Air Force is obligating $6, 355, 000 in fiscal year 2014 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award for the initial delivery order and the total price for that order is $26, 584, 648.
