Jim Anderson, formerly director of unified computing global sales at Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), has joined BAE Systems’ applied intelligence division as president for the Americas region.

Anderson will lead the division’s sales, services and operations in the U.S. as BAE intends to better help customers address financial crime and cyberattacks, the company said Wednesday.

Martin Sutherland, managing director of BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, said Anderson will leverage his fresh ideas to help the company achieve its goal of protecting the connected world.

He will also be responsible for overseeing client relationship management, expanding partnerships and seeking new market channels.

Anderson previously held leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) for 14 years before joining Dell (NASDAQ: DELL) as vice president of server and storage sales for the public sector and later Cisco.

He is currently the Make-a-Wish board chairman and a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Synchronized Swimming Board.
