GSA Could Award $130M for Round 2 of DHS’ St Elizabeths Move

ContractThe General Services Administration is scouting for contractors to renovate a building at the Department of Homeland Security’s future headquarters at the St. Elizabeths campus in Washington under a contract worth between $100 million and $130 million.

Contractors would work to consolidate the center building on the site’s West Campus and perform nearly 30 percent of bridging documents and construction management, GSA said in a Tuesday presolicitation notice.

The project represents the second phase of DHS’ move to St. Elizabeth’s, GSA says.

GSA has asked interested companies to submit proposals for bridging documents, supervision, human resources, materials and equipment for the 20-month project.

The project also includes work on a utility plant, DHS’ operations center and the Federal Emergency Management Agency‘s headquarters.

St. Elizabeth’s encompasses 176 acres and is also the future home of DHS agencies such as Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Transportation Security Administration.
