The Cooperative Patent Classification database is intended to function as a common classification structure and help patent examiners access CPC symbols and allocations, Acentia said Monday.
Under a one-year contract with USPTO, Acentia will analyze the CPC’s functional requirements to focus on system performance and help patent examiners carry out their duties.
The company also helps USPTO operate and maintain its patent application location and monitoring systems and provides software development services for PALM and other legacy patent systems.
