Marillyn Hewson: Lockheed Seeks Aviation IT Business Growth Through BEONTRA Buy

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has bought airport planning and forecasting tools provider BEONTRA AG for an undisclosed amount.

Marillyn Hewson, Lockheed chairman, president and CEO, said Tuesday that BEONTRA’s traffic and revenue planning portfolio will be integrated into Lockheed’s commercial aviation offerings.

“BEONTRA’s capabilities expand our business in commercial airport information technology solutions, ” Hewson said.

Christian Roth, BEONTRA CEO, said BEONTRA’s software technology would be combined with the Chroma Airport Suite, which was acquired by Lockheed.

Karlsruhe, Germany-based BEONTRA provides air traffic capacity forecasting and infrastructure development planning services to airport customers worldwide.
