A DRS Technologies business unit will continue payload logistics support work for the 60K Tunner Aircraft Cargo Loader under a new 10-year,  $390 million contract with the U.S. Air Force.DRS said Thursday that its sustainment systems unit will also provide overhaul, program engineering and parts management support under the performance-based contract.
Joseph Matteoni, the unit’s vice president and general manager, said DRS has supported the Tunner program for more than 20 years “from initial system design and production to system overhaul and field support.”
Contract work will occur at a DRS maintenance facility in West Plains, Mo.
The Tunner heavy-lift cargo loader and transporter is built to carry up to 60, 000 pounds of payload.
