Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX) has formed the Mellanox Capital investment arm, where Nimrod Gindi will serve as managing director.
Mellanox Capital will invest in start-up and technology firms that develop tools for storage, computing, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, big data, application platforms and embedded technologies, Mellanox Technologies said Monday.
Eyal Waldman, president and CEO of Mellanox Technologies, said the investment arm was created to help the company build up relationships with entrepreneurs and seek fresh markets, clients, partnerships and new technologies.
Portfolio companies will have access to Mellanox’s product portfolio, technologies, business relationships and channels, as well as aim to leverage financial assistance, insights and market intelligence.
The technology committee within Mellanox’s board of directors will direct Mellanox Capital.
