Matt Widmer Named Deloitte Financial Advisory Services Federal Lead

Matt Widmer, a principal at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, has been named head of the company’s FAS federal unit.

The 20-year financial industry veteran will be in charge of operations and client delivery, the firm said in a notice Wednesday.

Widmer will lead Deloitte’s FAS Federal team to help government customers handle issues and crises through services such as asset valuation, forensic investigations, financial restructuring and electronic discovery.

Prior to Deloitte, Widmer was a manager at PwC and worked for Carpenter Company to begin his career.

Widmer received his bachelor’s degree from Albany-based State University of New York and MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration of the University of Rochester.
