General Dynamics Canadian Subsidiary Inks $13B Saudi Armored Vehicle Contract

general dynamics logoA General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary will deliver civilian and military armored vehicles and provide maintenance and training services to Saudi Arabia under a potential $13 billion contract, Defense News reported Friday.

Ontario-based General Dynamics Land Systems Canada will design and develop the vehicles for a planned initial delivery in 2016.

Ken Yamashita, a GDLS spokesman, said training included in the agreement could be held in Canada and Saudi Arabia, according to the report.

The Saudis want ground vehicles that can travel long distances in the country’s rough environments, the report said.
