Bethany Mayer Takes HP Network Functions Virtualization SVP, GM Roles

HP logoBethany Mayer, formerly networking lead at Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), will serve as  senior vice president and general manager of HP’s network functions virtualization initiative, Silicon Angle reported Monday.

John Furrier writes Mayer will report to Martin Fink, executive vice president, chief technology officer and HP Labs director.

Mayer will also be responsible for integrating NFV services for the enterprise group, enterprise services unit and HP Cloud.

Fink, Bill Veghte, EVP and GM of HP’s Enterprise Group, and Mike Nefkens, HP Enterprise Services lead, told employees in a joint memo obtained by Silicon Angle that the company intends to maintain its NFV leadership and pursue opportunities.

Furrier writes the NFV program will be integrated into HP’s cloud organization.

HP also intends to hire a new head for its networking business, Single Angle reports.
